About Me
Rick Palmer is a Financial Advisor with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation who focuses on managing DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Plan) distributions for sworn employees and emergency services personnel. He works closely with his clients to identify the factors to consider when deciding whether to enter DROP. Investment concerns such as asset allocation, diversification, income needs, and risk management are the cornerstone issues to consider when developing a financial plan. He is well-versed in phased retirement programs such as Forward- DROP, as well as Reverse-DROP and PLOP (Partial Lump Sum Option). He is a member of the Florida Fire Chiefs Association, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, a sponsor of the annual FFCA Annual Meeting, and a regular contributor to 1st Responder Newspaper and Florida Fire Service magazine on articles concerning DROP. A native of the Hudson Valley area of New York, Rick graduated from Jesuit Tampa and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in business administration from Emory University, graduating with distinction. Rick and his wife, Michele, live in Norcross, Georgia and enjoy music, reading, exercising, and wine tastings.
